When you disable Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on an iPhone through the Control Center, your device promptly disconnects from Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth accessories. Despite this, both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth remain active in the background, allowing features like AirDrop and AirPlay to function. Consequently, these functionalities continue to consume your iPhone’s battery power.
Wouldn’t it be more convenient to have a shortcut that instantly turns off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth with just one tap, simplifying the process and aiding in battery conservation? In this article, I will show you how to create a one-tap shortcut to disable Wi-Fi or Bluetooth using the iPhone’s Shortcuts app, making it more convenient for you.
Here’s the step-by-step guide to create the Wi-Fi & Bluetooth turn off shortcuts: –
1. Launch the Shortcuts App and select the “+” icon to initiate a new shortcut.
2. Proceed by tapping on “Add Action”:
– Utilize the search function to locate “Set Wi-Fi” and incorporate it into the shortcut.
– Choose “Off” for Wi-Fi and confirm by tapping “Done”.
– Repeat the process by tapping “Add Action” once more.
– Discover “Set Bluetooth” through the search and add it to the sequence.
– Opt for “Off” for Bluetooth and confirm with “Done”.
3. Further customization of the shortcut is available by integrating actions such as displaying notifications or playing sounds upon activation. This step remains optional.
4. For customisation
– Access the menu by tapping the three dots (…) positioned in the top-right corner.
– Provide your shortcut with a suitable name, for instance, “Disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth”.
– Opt for “Add to Home Screen” if you desire a shortcut icon for swift access.
5. Upon completion, exit the Shortcuts app and return to your home screen.
6. Locate and tap the newly created shortcut to instantly deactivate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth simultaneously.
By tapping on the designated shortcut icon, both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionalities will be promptly disabled.
Note: – Using the above method, you can also create separate shortcuts to disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth individually.
